F.A.W.W Gallery is pleased to present Dunja Jankovic, the artist’s second UK-based solo show and the final instalment in The Collective Arena series. Known for her interdisciplinary practice, in this exhibition she presents a synthesis of screen-prints and sculptural, mixed-media installations, working at the intersection of two and three-dimensions.

In her new body of limited-edition works entitled ‘In Between’, simple geometric and abstract forms continue to comprise the foundation for each print. Piecing together the ‘things floating, around in my brain, around me’, she translates these orbital visions into circles, ovals, or ellipses which act either in solitude, sequence or suite repetition. The simplicity of these works allow for ‘more possibility to play’, whilst serving as portals for contemplation or self-reflection; they mirror the tranquillity and refuge which the artist has discovered at this juncture of her personal life and work. Forms and lines interact on multiple compositional planes and, in so doing, animate the work in a manner that can be likened to a lenticular illusion. These shifting perspectives present us with the artist’s inner experience of change, reminding the viewer that objects, much like time, are transitory. While the notion of play and spontaneity have been cornerstones of the artist’s approach, about her exhibition for The Collective Arena she states: “I know what I’m playing with”. Here, Jankovic writes the rules.
