British abstract figurative painter Chris Moon work depicts his personal struggles with depression which play out in abstract beach scenes in which obscured figures seem to be silently reaching out to us in the hope of connection, yet too reserved to make the first move. This Bacon-like aesthetic see in Round My Way reinforces Chris' commitment to creating an immersive experience for the viewer. The viewer may feel a sense of being part of something, or conversely feel like a voyeur, looking in from outside. His works are deliberate investigations into isolation and loneliness, each work presenting different ways of actualising these emotions. This is reinforced in his use of layering covering scenes with further painted layers presenting an atypical approach to time and the notion of something being finished.
